Living in the Rhythm and Spirit of God

Practical Atheism is defined as when we live our lives largely unaware of what God is doing in and around us.

How many times do you find yourself so busy that you just have no time to even sit down? So busy that your working, and working, and maybe you haven't even looked up to see what's going on around you.

I certainly can relate to this, I'm so wrapped up my life- thinking about work, and what I have to do. Thinking about multiple sclerosis- worried about multiple sclerosis. Just maybe the whole world revolves around MS and the symptoms that frustrate the heck out of you.

But regardless of whether you have a disease, we all suffer from being off in our own little world. A world that excludes God- A world where we attend church but somehow forget what was said on Sunday.

Galatians 5:16-26

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

But if you are lead by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery: idolatry and witchcraft: hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rate, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Those who long to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking the envying each other.

The results of living with the spirit of God is that you will experience victory over sin in your life. God wants to give you something much better, and I truly believe that God does not want us to be ill. He has created perfection in each and every one of us and we cannot do this alone without him.

God works with us each and every day but we are often too busy and wrapped up in our own lives to even notice.
